In February, when I read at Blythedoll.com that there would be a collaboration with the mangaka group CLAMP, I was part excited, part dreading the result. CLAMP are really famous and important in the Japanese manga/anime world, and pretty much outside Japan too, so a CLAMP designed Blythe doll should be expensive. I also dreaded they'd design Yuuko, my favourite character by them, from the manga/anime xxxHOLiC. Fortunately or unfortunately I was right!
As far as I remember, B2-HOLiC is the 2nd Blythe collaboration with anime/manga related artists, the 1st being Doronjo, the villain from the film Yatterman. Although I love all Tatsunoko produced series, and love their aesthetics and design for a looong time, CLAMP have captured my heart since the mid-nineties, when I started reading the X manga (still my favourite). Ever since then I've acquired and read many of their series (Tokyo Babylon, Rayearth, Cardcaptor Sakura, Wish, Clover, Angelic Layer, Chobits, among others) but lately, although there was always something I loved in most of their manga, I felt there wasn't as much care as in earlier works and that they were repeating themselves story-wise. Until... xxxHOLiC! In xxxHOLiC they surpass themselves, keeping the good part, their love for mysterious supernatural stories and great illustrations, and adding great characters, humour and narrative to it without repeating themselves. And they created *my kind* of favourite character, an adult sexy and crazy lady, who loves to have fun but takes her work really, really seriously and with excellent fashion taste! YUUKO ICHIHARA!
So, I had to have this Blythe, even more because I love the stock clothes (except maybe the shoes) and I've always wanted a black haired Blythe with pale skin, my she's pale!
Yuuko-san arrived conveniently at October 31st, as she says herself, "There are no coincidences, everything is foreordained." Of course, being a huge fan of CLAMP, their fashions, of xxxHOLiC and Yuuko, she had to remain Yuuko Ichihara 【壱原侑子】 and I will only dress her in reproductions of her wardrobe from the manga and anime. It'll be hard work to reproduce such complex and detailed garments, but it will also be a huge pleasure! Yuuko-san doesn't have a Watanuki to cook for her here, but she will be as pampered as she is by him.

Em Fevereiro, quando li no site Blythedoll.com que iria haver uma colaboração com o grupo de mangakas CLAMP, fiquei em parte excitada, em parte a temer o resultado. As CLAMP são muito famosas e importantes no mundo da manga/anime japonês, e também bastante fora do Japão, portanto uma boneca Blythe, desenhada pelas CLAMP seria cara. Também temi que fizessem a Yuuko, a minha personagem preferida delas, a partir da manga/anime xxxHOLiC. Felizmente ou infelizmente eu tinha razão!
Se bem me lembro, a B2-HOLiC é a segunda coleboração da Blythe com artistas de anime/manga, sendo a primeira a Doronjo, a vilã do filme Yatterman. Apesar de adorar todas as séries produzidas pela Tatsunoko, e de também adorar a sua estática e design há muuuito tempo, as CLAMP conquistaram o meu coração em meados dos anos noventa, quando comecei a ler a manga X (ainda a minha preferida). Desde então tenho vindo a adquirir e a ler muitas das suas séries (Tokyo Babylon, Rayearth, Cardcaptor Sakura, Wish, Clover, Angelic Layer, Chobits, entre outros) mas ultimamente, apesar de haver sempre algo que adorava na maioria das suas mangas, sentia que não eram feitas com tanto cuidado e que se andavam a repetir nas histórias. Até... xxxHOLiC! Em xxxHOLiC elas superam-se, mantendo as partes boas, a sua paixão pelas histórias misteriosas e subrenaturais e ilustrações magníficas, adicionando personagens excelentes, humor e narrativa sem se repetirem. E criaram o *meu tipo* de personagem preferida, uma mulher adulta sexy e doida, que adora divertir-se mas que leva o seu trabalho muito, muito a sério e que tem um excelente gosto para se vestir! YUUKO ICHIHARA!
Portanto, tinha de ter esta Blythe, ainda mais porque adoro as suas roupas de origem (excepto talvez os sapatos) e sempre quis ter uma Blythe de cabelo preto e com pele pálida, e como é pálida!
A Yuuko-san chegou convenientemente a dia 31 de Outubro, tal como ela própria diz, "Não existem coincidências, está tudo pré determinado." Claro que sendo uma enorme fã das CLAMP, das suas roupas, de xxxHOLiC e da Yuuko, ela teve de permanecer Yuuko Ichihara 【壱原侑子】 e apenas a vou vestir em reproduções do seu guarda-roupa da manga e anime. Vai dar trabalho reproduzir fatos tão complexos e detalhados, mas também irá dar enorme prazer! A Yuuko-san não tem um Watanuki para cozinhar para ela por aqui, mas será tão mimada como é por ele.
