The day my computer went kaboom, I was so stressed that I had to sew! I made this (shoes included) in one day!

I had the dress planned for a long time, it's from the ending of the Bihada Ichizoku anime series, it was a great excuse to dress Strawberry in a very quirky cosplay!

No dia em que o meu computador fez kaboom, estava tão stressada que tinha de costurar! Fiz isto (incluindo as sapatilhas) num dia!

Já tinha planeado o vestido há muito tempo, é do genérico final da série de anime Bihada Ichizoku, foi uma excelente desculpa para vestir a Strawberry num cosplay muito cómico!

Mokona=Modoki Larg

This year I made my very first CLAMP cosplay, as Yuuko in xxx HOLiC and Yuuko had to have her party companion Mokona=Modoki Larg with her, so I made one! CLAMP have been amongst my favourite manga authors for a long time and I've also been a cosplayer for many years, but ended up not engaging in one of CLAMP's gorgeous costume designs until now.

It's been long since Watanuki cooked for us (meaning, since we've had Japanese food at home), but today Mokona and I enjoyed delicious takoyaki.

Mokona was handsewn during a weekend and I decided to make it because I found the right fabric (the velvety fur like in Japanese UFO-Catcher toys), it's a very basic egg shape, it's scale is more accurate than the "official" ones and it was much cheaper.

So, Mokona isn't really a toy, but ended up being one. Another inhabitant of this dolls place and with a pretty defined attitude!

Este ano fiz pela primeira vez um cosplay das CLAMP, de Yuuko em xxx HOLiC e a Yuuko tinha de ter as sua companheira de festas Mokona=Modoki Larg, portanto fiz uma! As CLAMP são das minhas autoras preferidas de manga há muito tempo e também sou cosplayer há muitos anos, mas acabei por nunca me enfiar num dos fatos fabulosos das CLAMP até agora.

Há muito que o Watanuki não cozinha para nós (isto é, comemos comida japonesa cá em casa), mas hoje a Mokona e eu deliciámo-nos com umas takoyaki maravilhosas.

A Mokona foi cosida à mão durante um fim de semana e decidi fazê-la pois encontrei o tecido certo (o pêlo aveludado dos UFO-Catchers japoneses), é uma forma oval bastante básica, a escala está mais correcta que nas "oficiais" e foi muito mais barata.

Portanto, a Mokona não é bem um brinquedo, mas acabou por sê-lo. Mais uma habitante deste lugar das bonecas e com uma atitude bem forte!

10th Anniversary Neo Blythe "Ten Happy Memories"

Yes, today, the 23rd of June, Neo Blythe is 10 years old! It seems like yesterday the day I spotted the SONY Minidisc ads with a Blythe, photographed by Gina Garan, and said I wanted a doll like that! I almost bought one in 2002 in Japan, but gave up due to lack of luggage space (what have I done!). Seven years had to pass until I could afford one again, and now I'm close to addicted. But the most fun in these 3 years since there's a Blythe doll with me, has been making clothes ant taking pictures of them.

Sim, hoje, dia 23 de Junho, a Neo Blythe faz 10 anos! Parece que foi ontem que vi os anúncios da SONY Minidisc com uma Blythe, fotografada pela Gina Garan, e disse que queria uma boneca daquelas! Quase comprei uma em 2002 no Japão, mas desisti por causa do pouco espaço de bagagem (o que foi que eu fiz!). Tiveram de passar sete anos até eu poder novamente comprar uma, e agora estou quase viciada. Mas o mais divertido nestes 3 anos desde que há uma Blythe comigo, tem sido fazer-lhes roupas e tirar-lhes fotografias.

Prize & Goodies

It took it's time, but finally here's Camila with her prize! She won the first place in the "Crazy 1920s" fashion contest! You go, girl!

And here are the goodies I grabbed at the meeting, some were bought, some were presents, some were trades. Two tulip hats from Sandra, two cute kitsch bags from Ruka, two blotting paper pads, a Licca outfit (for the black go-go boots), a Knees and Toes Serene pack, dolly velcro and cute thank you cards from Miss Blythe.

Prémio & Achados

Levou o seu tempo, mas finalmente cá está a Camila com o seu prémio! Ela ganhou o primeiro lugar no concurso da mais bem vestida dos "Loucos Anos 20"! Muito bem, miúda!

E aqui estão os achados que arranjei no encontro, alguns foram comprados, outros foram presentes e outros foram trocas. Dois chapéus túlipa da Sandra, dois saquinhos giros e kitsch do Ruka, dois bloquinhos de blotting paper, um fato da Licca (pelas botas go-go pretas), um conjunto Knees and Toes Serene, dolly velcro e cartões de agradecimento da Miss Blythe.

It was a long time since the Portuguese met with their dollies, last weekend we went to an event at an old Manor that now belongs to the Almada city hall (a town on the other side of river Tagus, Lisbon) which has a different theme every year. This year's was "The crazy 1920's" which was the perfect excuse for me to make some 1920's dresses for the girls!

Camila went as a Flapper, a design I had though of some time ago, Strawberry went in a sailor dress with hat, a favourite design of mine! There was a contest and Camila won! That was cool!

There were some goodies to buy and after we went to a doll collector's place, which was nearby, to look at an awesome and HUGE doll collection (no Blythes). It was great fun!

Há muito que os portugueses não se encontravam com as suas bonecas, no fim-de-semana passado fomos a um evento num solar que pertence à câmara de Almada, e que tem um tema diferente todos os anos. O deste ano eram "Os Loucos Anos 20", que foi a desculpa perfeita para eu fazer vestidos anos 20 para as meninas!

A Camila foi de flapper, um design que já tinha planeado há algum tempo, a Strawberry foi de vestido de marujo com chapéu, um estilo que adoro! Houve um concurso e a Camila ganhou! Isso foi bestial!

Havia coisinhas para comprar e depois fomos a casa de uma coleccionadora de bonecas, ali perto, ver uma colecção fabulosa e GIGANTESCA de bonecas (sem Blythes). Foi muito divertido!

Today Camila celebrates her 2nd year at this doll place. It' hasn't been perfect, she wants beach, summer, fashion photo shoots, parties, and I only take her to parties sometimes and I'm not a very dedicated fashion photographer. But she's OK, she can watch telenovelas all the time and has new clothes now and again.

Hoje a Camila celebra o seu 2º aniversário neste lugar das bonecas. Não tem sido perfeito, ela quer praia, Verão, sessões de fotografia de moda, festas, e eu só a levo a festas de vez em quando e não sou uma fotógrafa de moda muito esforçada. Mas ela está bem, pode ver telenovelas o tempo todo e tem roupas novas de vez em quando.
